In October 2019, we held a seminar titled – The Sustainability Revolution. Sustainable investing is becoming a major part of the investment landscape both in Australia and globally. Increasingly consumers and investors are choosing to spend and invest their money in alignment with their values.
This trend is accelerating as research shows that taking environmental, social and governance factors into account doesn’t mean giving up financial returns and may in fact enhance them. Investment is flowing into sustainable solutions across energy, transport, food, agriculture, waste, health and more.
On the night we explored the why, the what and the how behind sustainable investing and heard from:
Speakers:
Dave Rae – Financial Adviser at Federation Financial Services (Working Group member of the Australian Sustainable Finance Initiative)
Emily Flood – Ethical Investment Analyst at Future Super (Australia’s first fossil-fuel free superannuation fund)
Lillian Kline – Head of Investor Relations at Impact Investment Group (Australia’s leading Impact Investment fund manager)
The evening was free for clients but we asked for a contribution to the Climate Factory who are building a pilot micro-forest in Downer. Micro-forests are dense pockets of vegetation that absorb carbon, cool the landscape, create habitat and provide hope for a brighter future. Federation Financial joined as a Gold Sponsor for the project which reached its crowdfunding target and will get underway in Autumn 2020.
